Voice Over Rates
How voice over pricing works for Hindi, English, Hinglish and Urdu projects: script length, usage, language and turnaround. Send your script for a clear quote.
Voice over is priced by what the recording is used for, not only by how long it runs. A 60-second internal training clip and a 60-second national TV ad are very different jobs, even though the audio length is the same. That is why Gulab quotes every project individually, in writing, before any recording starts.
What decides the price of a voice over
- Length. The finished audio length, or the word count of the script. At a natural pace, Hindi runs at roughly 140 words a minute and English at roughly 150, so a script’s word count gives a good first estimate of minutes.
- Usage. TV and cinema ads carry more value than internal training or a social post, and the quote reflects where the voice will be heard, in which regions, and for how long.
- Language and difficulty. Straight Hindi or English is simple. Technical terms, medical or legal vocabulary, Urdu-heavy scripts and character reads take more preparation.
- Turnaround. Standard delivery is planned around your schedule. Same-day and urgent requests are possible when the diary allows, and are quoted accordingly.
- Extras. Several cut-downs (30, 20 and 10 seconds), multiple language versions, separate IVR prompt files, or a live-directed session.
Why marketplace prices can mislead
On freelance marketplaces you will see Hindi voice overs offered for a few dollars a minute. Those listings usually exclude commercial usage rights, revisions, live direction and broadcast-grade editing. For a TV or radio campaign, an IVR that thousands of customers will hear, or a corporate film that represents your brand, the cost of a poor read is far larger than the saving. Gulab’s quotes are for broadcast-ready work from a voice with seven years on national news channels.
