Media and OTT Voice Over Artist

Media is where Gulab Hussain’s voice began. After seven years as the voice behind packages, promos and special shows at national news channels, he records for channels, OTT platforms and production houses in Hindi, English and Urdu.

Where this industry uses voice over

• Channel and show promos, openers and bumpers.
• News packages and special-event coverage.
• Documentary and series narration.
• OTT trailers, teasers and platform announcements.

The right tone

Urgent and punchy for news and debate, grand for specials and events, measured and cinematic for documentary, lighter for entertainment.

Languages and audiences

Hindi dominates news and general entertainment, English suits premium OTT and international distribution, and Urdu serves heritage and culture content.

Script ideas that work

• Show promo: a hook line, a stakes line and the time line. Anything else is cut.
• Trailer: short, cinematic phrases with space between them for music and sound design.
• Documentary series: narration written to the visuals and read at a slow, steady pace.

Points to get right

Show titles, cast and anchor names and times must be read exactly the same way every time. Gulab records these as modular clips for quick re-use and sends alternate readings for the producer to pick from.

Working with channels

Channel and OTT work often comes with tight schedules and late changes. Gulab’s background is national news channels, so quick turnaround and clean delivery are part of the way he works. See clients and credits.
